MEET THE PROFESSORS
FIA Business School requires each of its professors, professionals and faculty to have effectively experience in business practice in addition to the academic qualification of the first line, resulting in the most qualified professors among the world classified by the Financial Times newspaper.
National and international speakers from the academic and corporate areas are invited to present special topics, as well as the offer of an extensive program of events at USP (University of São Paulo), which are supported by the FIA and for which MBA students And Masters are invited. Meet some of the professor:
Renata Giovinazzo Spers, Phd — Coordinator
With a degree in economic sciences from the University of São Paulo (1997), Master and Doctor of Management by the same university in 2003 and 2007, respectively, she also has an Internship Doctorate from the University of Cambridge (2006) and from Howard University (2007). Associate professor at the School of Economics, Business and Accounting, University of São Paulo, where she teaches Technology Evaluation and Prospection in the graduate program and Management Lab to the undergraduate cohort. Member of the coordination team at the USP Innovation Agency as Direction Technical Advisor. At FIA Prof. Spers is a Business teacher for the Professional Master Degree, coordinator of the International MBAs and Professional Master. Moreover, she is a coordinator of FIA’s Future Studies Program.
Daniel Estima de Carvalho, Phd — Academic Coordinator of the Professional Master in Business Management
Prof. Daniel is graduated in Computer Science, holds a MBA in Information Technology Management at FIA and achieving his Master’s and Ph.D. in Business Management at FEA – University of São Paulo.
He is currently the Academic Coordinator of the Professional Master in Business Management at FIA Business School. He is also professor in the same program as well as the MBA and Graduation program. He coordinate and supervise the final paper program of the International Executive MBA and International MBA from FIA.
Professor Carvalho make part of the Future Studies Program – Profuturo at FIA since 2002, where he worked in projects for public and private companies such as Mastercard, Bayer Schering, Roche, Wahler, EDP, Cenpes / Petrobras, Eletropaulo, Johnson & Johnson, Embraer, Harald, Gafisa, Grupo Abril, Artesp, STM,and others .
Ph.D. from University of Warwick, UK and MSc from the University of São Paulo, he teaches Achieving Operational Excellence in Service and Manufacturing at FIA Business School and is also a professor of Operations Management at Rollins College Crummer Graduate School of Business Winter Park, Florida, USA. His research interests include global supply chain management, flexible operations and service operations management. He has published extensively in academic journals including the International Journal of Operations and Production Management, Computer Integrated Manufacturing Systems, International Journal of Logistics Systems Management, Journal of Manufacturing Technology Management and Latin America Business Review.
Jacques Marcovitch, Phd — Professor
CEO of the Power Company of the State of São Paulo (CESP, CPFL, Eletropaulo and Comgás), Secretary for Economics and Planning of the State of São Paulo, President of the Bünge Foundation, Member of the Advisory Board of Nestlé in Brazil, Fellow of the International Institute for Labour Studies / ILO (Geneva), he also incorporates the High Committee of the Alcan Prize for Sustainable Development and is Senior Adviser of the World Economic Forum.
Ph.D. from Cambridge University in Economics, he is Professor of Cross-Cultural Management at FIA Business School. With participation in the universities of Princeton, London Business School, IBMEC, PUC-RJ, Katz Business School and University of California at Berkeley, he was Dean of Foundation School of Commerce Alvares Penteado and economist at the World Bank. Awarded the McNamara Fellowship by the World Bank, the Hewlett fellowship by Princeton University, The Boa Vista Bank award, and the Jean Monet Fellowship by the European University, Fiesole, Italy, he is also the published author of “Culture and Management in the Americas” (2009) by the Stanford University Press.
